Sarah and Steve met in 2015 and quickly established that they shared the same dream of one day owning their own cafe/restaurant business. After months of planning and several life changing events they are pleased to embark upon this new chapter in their life and excited to share their love of food, wine and coffee with you.

Steve, with a long background in the hospitality sector, working primarily in the U.K for a boutique hotel group and Channel Islands as well as stints in Australia and New Zealand, has experience of managing busy food and beverage environments.

Sarah has a strong passion for food and…. (she won’t want us to say this but it’s true) she is a great cook! Creating everything from healthy, nutritious home cooked dishes to awesome venison and streaky bacon burgers.

Sarah’s blend of love and enthusiasm for hospitality along with her no-nonsense science background can be found in everything we do. Sarah & Steve are definitely wine lovers too and aren’t afraid to try anything new. 

You can expect to see different and alternative options on the wine list, as well as weekly specials, wines from all over the world, the weird and wonderful! If you’re wondering where the name Fat Rascal comes from; it’s a famous sweet treat from their home town of Harrogate, North Yorkshire.
